TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — New Jersey is taking steps towards establishing guidelines for leisure marijuana now that voters authorised a measure to make it authorized within the Garden State.
Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday introduced appointments to the Cannabis Regulatory Commission. It will present oversight to New Jersey’s marijuana market.
Dianna Houenou will function chair of the fee, and Jeff Brown will function govt director. The governor says he may even appoint Krista Nash as a member of the fee.
On Tuesday, voters handed a referendum for an modification permitting gross sales to adults 21 and older. They can be taxed on the state and native ranges.
“I look forward to continuing our work with the Legislature to pass enabling legislation that will set up the necessary regulatory framework for adult use marijuana,” the governor stated.
