AUGUST 17, 2020 (NORTH PLATTE, NEB.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) have arrested one individual after discovering practically 2,300 kilos of marijuana during a motorist help on Interstate 80.
At roughly 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 15, a trooper observed a business field truck stopped with mechanical issues on the shoulder of eastbound I-80 at mile marker 228, close to Cozad. The trooper stopped to help. During the motorist help, the trooper turned suspicious of legal exercise.
The truck was towed to the NSP workplace in Lexington for a possible trigger search, with help from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office. The search revealed 2,295 kilos of marijuana, which was hid inside cardboard containers marked as electronics and different gadgets. The estimated avenue worth of the marijuana is greater than $5 million.
The driver, Nolan Baly, 33, of Buckeye, Arizona, was arrested for possession of marijuana – multiple pound, possession with intent to ship, and no drug tax stamp. Amado was lodged in Dawson County Jail.
