The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as we speak introduced the approval of hemp manufacturing plans below the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma and the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo, bringing the complete quantity of accredited plans to 50.

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) directed USDA to develop a regulatory oversight program for hemp and embrace provisions for USDA to approve hemp manufacturing plans submitted by states and Indian tribes. Accordingly, on Oct. 31, 2019, USDA issued an interim final rule establishing the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program and the provisions for USDA to approve submitted plans. State and tribal plans present particulars on practices and procedures that allow hemp producers of their jurisdictions to function in response to their particular person plans and in compliance with federal legal guidelines.
